This initiative evaluated and advanced the social and natural science to catalyze EBM along the US west coast. Guided by the efforts of a Science Advisory Committee (co-chaired by Steve Gaines and Dave Fluharty), the CCEBM initiative synthesized existing science with respect to ecosystem services, cumulative impacts, and ecosystem variability and change. The committee also developed promising new applications of decision-theory to aid in the evaluation of tradeoffs.
