The Leopold Leadership Program, a prestigious fellowship that provides already oustanding academic researchers with additional skills to translate their knowledge into action and to catalyze change, held their 2012 all-cohorts reunion this week.  COMPASS has been involved with the program - coordinating and delivering its core communcations offerings - since its inception in 1999, and we were very excited to be involved in this year's reunion.

Around 45 Leopold Leadership Fellows, with nearly all cohorts represented, gathered in Santa Cruz, California for the three-day event.  The fellows chose one of four all-day workshops: innovation, collaboration, engagement or communication, the latter led by Communications Assistant Director, Liz Neeley.  The day was spent diving into 'new' and social media, exploring why scientists should bother, providing them with an arsenel of useful new tools to fit their needs, and engaging them in lively discussion about how these skills might be used directly in their current and future work.  The communications group then took the key pieces of what they learned in their workshop and shared it with the larger group of fellows.  Join in the conversation on Twitter by following Liz's list of Leopold fellows!
