Ecosystem-Based Ocean Management: Creating a Policy Relevant Science Vision

Overview
Scientists and managers throughout the Gulf of Maine agreed to seven key action items to forward the science of ecosystem-based management in the region. The overarching goal of these actions is to start collaborative work between various sectors and two governments who value this watershed. The science-related action items are all policy relevant so that managers can access and use data and information applicable to decision-making. Seven work groups are being formed and each will develop a 1-year plan as a coordinated group.
