Meetings & Events

COMPASS addresses marine conservation issues by connecting science to policymakers, natural resource managers, the media, and the public. By creating opportunities for increased dialog on scientific issues, COMPASS plays an important role in integrating science into policy debates and public forums. Our Ocean Science Briefings, Communications Training, and other events are convened to address critical issues at the interface of science and policy.

Ocean Science Briefings

COMPASS' Ocean Science Briefing series provides decision-makers with an opportunity to discuss recent research and its policy implications with marine scientists and other experts.

Workshops & Meetings

COMPASS regularly convenes meetings and workshops to facilitate communication among marine scientists, policymakers, marine resource managers, the media, and the public.

Communications Training

COMPASS' Communications Training workshops teach scientists to communicate their work in a clear, engaging manner that will resonate with non-academic audiences including resource managers, policymakers, the media, and the public.
